Executors, Beneficiaries, Charities and How to Use Them

 WILLMAKER TAB/REPRESENTATIVES

For the most part, the Trustee, Power of Attorney and Guardian roles are self-explanatory. If a person is an Estate Trustee (Executor/Executrix) the tick-boxes are marked appropriately. Gender is set on the Contact Card/Details Tab

WILLMAKER TAB/BENEFICIARIES
Assets are added in the usual manner. Contact cards for Schools, Universities and Charites are entered as COMPANY. The instructions below are for specific clauses in the Notaries Will.

Scholarship/Bursary
Asset Class is Cash and complete the Value field with the amount of the behest. Enter the name of the Scholarship or Bursary in the Description Field and use the Categorized Description to specify Scholarship or Bursary. If no Faculty is entered, the Contact Card name will be used.

Add the Beneficiary and set the Relation to University. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.

Charity – Unrestricted Gifts
Asset Class is Cash and complete the Value field with the amount of the behest. Enter a description in the Description Field.

Add the Beneficiary and set the Relation to Foundation. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.

 

Charity – Specific Purpose Gifts
Asset Class is Cash and complete the Value field with the amount of the behest. Enter a description in the Description Field and use the Categorized Description to specify the purpose.

Add the Beneficiary and set the Relation to Foundation. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.

Gifts – In Lieu of Executor Fees
Asset Class is Trustee Gift.

 

Add the Trustee as a Beneficiary in the usual manner. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.

 

Gifts – Gift of Personal Property
Asset Class is Personal Effects

 

Add the Beneficiary in the usual manner. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.

 

Gifts – Pet Survivor Care Program

Asset Class as relating to the Asset (Cash, Personal Effects)
Add the Beneficiary and set the Relation to Pet Charity. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.

 

Gifts – RDSP
Asset Class is RDSP and enter a description in the Description Field if necessary.
Add the Beneficiary in the usual manner. Link the Asset using the Link button, choose the Description on the dropdown.


Gifts – Inherited Funds (Separate Bank Account for Children)
Add a Representative without assigning a Role and activate the Relationship dropdown to populate the Name and Relationship sections of this clause


Deliberately Omitting Spouse due to separation – enter the Separation Date in the Pertinent Dates grid on the Administration Tab.

Common Accident Clause
Add Beneficiary and activate the tickbox for Common Disaster Recipient. The Estate will be divided into equal shares depending on the number of Common Accident Beneficiaries.
